Sala Grooves: a Brand New Live Music Experience at XX XX

Mynila Team August 5, 2019 Music & Culture

XX XX, in collaboration with Smirnoff Mule Philippines and Mynila, is bringing you a brand new weekly live music experience in Metro Manila.

Catch some of the most talented & emerging artists perform live in an intimate & cozy living room-style set up.

For the launch night do not miss live performances by Curtismith, Basically Saturday Night, Rice Lucido + a DJ set by Teenage Granny.

Curtismith and Basically Saturday Night

Curtismith is an indie singer, rapper and songwriter. He is best known for his debut mixtape ‘Ideal in 2015, and his EPs ‘Failing Forward’ (2016) and ‘Soully Yours’ (2017). He’s a LOGICLUB collective member. His success also paved way for features in Kiana Valenciano’s “Does She Know”, and a collaboration with artist Noel Cabangon.

Basically Saturday Night is a 5-piece Boogie Fusion band that goes beyond the sound of the weekend. Across a backdrop of upbeat blues and a bouncing bassline, they can go from preaching melancholia and warding off inner demons, to celebrating youth and nostalgia in the same breath. They are the soundtrack to your midnight drive and your cold beer — basically, your Saturday night.

Alyana Cabral aka Teenage Granny. Her music creations are her arts n’ crafts project, warping and weaving pop and poetry, electronic with analog, Internet with real life, nature and machine, and the introspection of knitting with yarn.

Rice Lucido is a singer-songwriter and musician from Manila. She draws attention back to our roots; the staple, the little things that people would commonly look past nowadays. She promotes folk music as an instrument to her poetic method of storytelling.
