The initiative aims to help reduce the risk of people going outside, support Farmers and SMEs during this tough time, provide healthy and affordable meals for people.
We have always wanted to sell community products from our own communities partners. As the pandemic has hit the tourism sector hard, we are innovating our services so that more communities (beyond our partners) can continue to get regular income and at the same time fulfill a need to make sure produce and products reach people’s home in the metro, minimizing the risk of going outside.
For us, the MAD market is but one small way to start redistributing wealth and value, and promote a more conscious way of consuming. We are able to channel income sectors made even more vulnerable by the pandemic, promote local agriculture and mot importantly bring value to our farmers, forests and budding enterprises.
By opening the market, we are happy that we can still find a way to support the farmers markets that are working with farmers from Mountain Province, Benguet, Davao, Rizal, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija and small local bakeries from Quezon City. By doing so we believe that we have a chance to make the “new normal” – the “new better”.
Shop for fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods and more from local SMEs and farmers markets HERE.
