His first album since relocating from Manila to LA, “Let’s Skip To The Wedding” is a passionate exploration of his love and fears as he prepares to welcome a child into this ever-changing world.
“My next album is for everyone who wants to be in a serious relationship, real simp shit” – Eyedress
The music channels the uncertainty of 2020 into an eclectic collection of songs and loved up remedy for the times. The third and fourth cut of the album, “Never Want To Be Apart” followed by “Can I See You Tonight” brings an infectious bassline and steady rhythm, with a simple sentiment – one that rings true not only for romantic relationships, but also today’s challenge of congregation and human connection.
“Trauma” opens with a heavy-hitting beat that marches into the soft-spots and your innermost insecurity. The guitar interprets and echo Eyedress’ clean vocals, while the contrast between the banging drums and the gentle melody is a balanced flavor – like a salted-caramel taco.
The 19-track LP hears Eyedress crafting his ideas into a solid story that’s both personal and universal. He retains his sonic identity but shows growth and expansion as an artist, exploring the different ways of conveying a thought and emotion through music.
To coincide with the LP release, Eyedress has announced a 2021 European tour.
