In Hole Sweet Home, Tokwa Peñaflorida and Sherlaine Yap trace around the blueprints of their concepts of home, to wallow in the confines of its domesticity and reflect on what makes it so. They pin sensations and moments in vibrant candy colors and pastels, acrylic, and found objects, the culmination of which largely evoking a somber familiarity to the viewer.
More than an architectural structure, the building blocks of home are time, memories, and most importantly, people. It elicits a sense of security and warmth even if its foundations are burning in flames or charred down to ashes.
