On September 30, join the first ever Gaga/People movement class to happen in the Philippines at Pineapple Lab!
The Gaga movement language is a new way of moving that facilitates deep listening between the body and self. It improves the body's efficiency, strength, flexibility, and coordination through imagery and improvisation. The technique was developed by Ohad Naharin, director of the Batsheva Dance Company, one of the most influential contemporary dance companies in Europe and the world today. Both an artistic process used for choreographic movement exploration, and a somatic practice beneficial for any type of individual, dancer or not, learning Gaga is a journey towards finding a personal connection with one's physicality through movement.
Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. Gaga raises awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, exposes physical fixations, and offers ways for their elimination. The work improves instinctive movement and connects conscious and unconscious movement, and it allows for an experience of freedom and pleasure in a simple way, in a pleasant space, in comfortable clothes, accompanied by music, each person with himself and others.
