MONO8 GALLERY announces the opening of the second edition of “FUTURE PRESENT”, an exhibition that features the works of established and emerging contemporary artists from the local and international art scenes.
“FUTURE PRESENT” draws inspiration from Mono8 Gallery’s vision to become a platform where the exchange of artistic practices between contemporary artists come together to have a place wherein history becomes present with the current art forms.
The exhibition reflects on the concurrent chronicling of time, as believed to have been a practice of the Buddha Padmasambhava who was known to see the past, the present, and the future simultaneously.
Through an annual exhibition, “FUTURE PRESENT” looks at the distinct and significant approaches to the art-making process of the artists we have invited for this show, which includes the likes of Clarence Chun, Brittany Watkins, Dexter Sy, Jonathan Olazo, Kristoffer Ardeña, Kristone Capistrano, LJ Ablola, Martin Honasan, Michelle Pérez , Pol Mondok, Rico Entico, and Van Tuico among others.
Situated inside Manila’s historic Malate district and housed inside a colonial mansion built in the 1900s, Mono8 Gallery continues with an exhibition that will delve deeper into the integration of the old and the contemporary.
