Cinema Silencio: Italian and German Film Screenings at XX XX

The Philippine Italian Association in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Philippinen and XX XX are bringing you: Cinema Silencio in Metro Manila!

Cinema Silencio will be a series of Italian and German classic movies screened at your favourite venue in Makati, launching 8pm on Wednesday, August 1.

What makes it even more interesting? Entrance will be free for all the screenings!

Let’s take a look at the schedule:


Il Conformista (1970) – 9.oopm


From Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci: a weak-willed Italian man becomes a fascist flunky who goes abroad to arrange the assassination of his old teacher, now a political dissident.

L’Avventura (1960) – 11.30pm


From Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni: a woman disappears during a Mediterranean boating trip. During the search, her lover and her best friend become attracted to each other.

M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder (1931) – 9pm


From director Fritz Lang: when the police in a German city are unable to catch a child-murderer, other criminals join in the manhunt.

Der Amerikanische Freund (1977) – 11.30pm

From German director Wim Wenders: Tom Ripley, who deals in forged art, suggests a picture framer he knows would make a good hit man.

Il Viaggio In Italia (1954) – 9.00pm


From Italian director Roberto Rossellini: an unhappily married couple attempts to find direction and insight while vacationing in Naples.

Inferno (1980) – 11.30pm


From horror movies director Dario Argento: an American college student in Rome and his sister in New York investigate a series of killings in both locations where their resident addresses are the domain of two covens of witches.

Lola (1981) – 9.oopm


From German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder: in post-war West Germany, the charming Von Bohm is appointed a city’s new Building Commissioner. His morality is tested when he unknowingly falls in love with a brothel worker, Lola, the paid mistress of a corrupt property developer.

Victoria (2015) – 11.30pm


From director Sebastian Schipper: a young Spanish woman who has recently moved to Berlin finds her flirt with a local guy turn potentially deadly as their night out with his friends reveals a dangerous secret.
